Industrial warehouse x multi-arts space Superordinary is set to host the 2025 Creative Generation Metro Regional Exhibition, an inspiring showcase featuring young, emerging artists from Brisbane’s Metro North and Metro South regions.
Creative Generation (CGEN) is an annual celebration that provides Queensland’s most talented young creatives the opportunity to exhibit their innovative artworks in professional galleries. This year’s Metro Regional Exhibition will feature an exceptional collection of works across visual art, design, digital media, sculpture, and installation.
Lincoln Savage, Creative Director of Superordinary is once again excited to experience the bold visions and unique voices of Queensland’s next generation of artists.
“I’m excited that Creative Generation Metro can now bring together both the North and South regions in a single exhibition at Superordinary. Last year the show had to be split into two separate openings due to space limitations, so it’s fantastic that everyone, artists, friends, and families, can gather and celebrate together in one vibrant night. I’m also looking forward to seeing which works might go on to represent the region in the final exhibition at GOMA” said Mr Savage.
“Attendees can expect an inspiring snapshot of the next wave of Queensland creatives. The level of skill and conceptual thinking these young artists demonstrate at such a young age is remarkable. There’s always a sense of discovery in the room – last year I had the privilege of speaking at the exhibition and was blown away by the energy and ideas on display. This year promises to be even more dynamic.”
Mr Savage said supporting emerging creatives is at the core of Superordinary’s mission. Hosting the Creative Generation Metro Regional exhibition is a natural extension of their work with initiatives like the Brisbane Street Art Festival, where they champion new voices in contemporary art.
“We’ll be keeping an eye out for artists from this show who might one day create large-scale murals as part of our festival program. Providing a platform and pathways for young artists to grow their practice is what excites us most.”
As Northshore’s newest shared workspace, The Forefront is proud to champion creativity in the Precinct.
